Purpose Statement

The Purpose of Calvary Chapel Alpharetta is threefold:
  1. Making known God's offer of salvation through Jesus Christ.
    • That God expects His people to be evangelizing the world is evident in Matthew 28:18-20. "Then Jesus came to them and said, 'All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.'"
  2. Upbuilding and equipping those who accept God's offer of salvation through the teaching of the Word and other ministries of the Spirit.
    • That God expects His church to be composed of mature, ministering men and women who have been equipped for service is evident from Ephesians 4:11-12. "It was he who gave some to be apostles, some to be prophets, some to be evangelists, and some to be pastors and teachers, to prepare God's people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up." (See also Rom. 12:1,2 and Matthew 9:37,38.)
  3. Providing for assemblies of worship to God the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
    • That God desires to be exalted in worship is evident from Psalm 95:6-7. "Come, let us bow down in worship, let us kneel before the LORD our Maker; for he is our God and we are the people of his pasture, the flock under his care." (See also Eph. 5:19 and Rev. 4:8-11.)

Our Mission and Vision Statement

Our goal is to be a church that brings the Gospel to the lost (Matthew 28:18-20) and then prepares those who receive Christ for works of service. (Ephesians 4:11-12) Out of this equipping it is our desire to see each individual catch a vision for what God is calling him or her to do as a part of the Body of Christ. This includes all of those things that need to be done in order to have a healthy church and also those things that need to be done in order to reach outside the church to the hurting world around us. (Isaiah 58:6, Luke 4:16-21.)
